A portable band saw is a handheld power tool that uses a continuous loop (endless) band-saw blade to cut metal. Unlike an abrasive cut-off saw that grinds through material with a spinning disc, the band saw slices with a toothed blade running at high speed, producing a narrow-kerf, low-heat cut.
